NAUTILUS

Artistic direction, atmosphere, furniture and interior design

for Nautilus restaurant at Rotermann Quarter,

Laeva 1 in Tallinn, Estonia.

Opened in 2025.

According to the restaurant itself, Nautilus is the only place in town for true oyster lovers. Nautilus is located by the harbour, a stone’s throw from the Rotermann Quarter, in a spacious room with glass walls on three sides.

When I began working on the concept, I immediately felt that the dominant tone of the atmosphere was blue in its many shades. I enjoyed playing with a minimalist formal language and mid-century modern style elements, combining vintage and new chairs with materials such as metal, wood and rattan, textured plaster and tone-on-tone mirrors. A series of stainless-steel floral lamps, “Anemones I”, was designed especially for the restaurant.
